GOT A REPTILE THAT NEEDS A RIDE?
Whether you're buying a new beardie, rehoming a royal python, or getting your gecko to a specialist vet — we’ve got the wheels (and the know-how) to get them there safely and stress-free with our luxury reptile courier service.
NOT YOUR AVERAGE REPTILE COURIER - we offer luxury reptile transport across the NORTH WEST (AND BEYOND).
Your reptile isn’t a parcel: they’re a living, breathing creature — and we will treat them with the respect and care they deserve.
Whether it’s a blue-tongued skink headed to its new forever home, or a boa needing a specialist vet visit, we approach every journey with the same high standards: calm, clean, climate-controlled, and creature-first.
This isn’t your typical “stick it in a tub and hope for the best” operation. This is bespoke, luxury reptile transport — designed around the animal's needs, not just the destination.
we care about the safe delivery of your scaly friend.
Hi! We’re Allen & Cerries, and we’re not just drivers: we’re reptile people.
We run Scaly Safari - a reptile handling experience company based in North Wales (but we travel all over the UK on a daily basis with our animals). We own and care for over 30 different species of exotic animals…which means we know a thing or two about how to make sure a reptile is calm, secure, and comfortable during travel.
We know that it’s not just furries that are part of the family: scaly pets are just as important, and we will treat yours as if they were one of our own.
WHY CHOOSE US as your reptile courier?
✅ Fully Licensed & Insured
We're DEFRA-licensed and fully insured in the UK, so your animal is in safe, legal hands.
✅ No Waiting Around
We don’t do “next run in 3 weeks.” We work on your timeline, not ours.
✅ Real-Time Updates
No apps to check - we’ll actually call or text you with an update on our progress.
✅ An Experienced Handler And A Driver
While one of us is driving, the other is always keeping an eye on how our precious cargo is doing in the back.
✅ Personalised Service
We're a small, independent business - so you’ll always speak to a human who cares (and who knows a corn snake from a carpet python).
WE’RE NOT THE CHEAPEST - AND HERE’S WHY.
We don’t do delivery ‘runs’, with multiple animals stacked and kept in the van for long periods of time - and this is reflected in our pricing. Our dedicated service means we probably aren’t going to be the cheapest option, but if animal comfort and safety is your priority, we’re the reptile couriers for you.
We quote for each delivery individually, from our starting location in North Wales.

FAQS
Got questions? You’ll find some FAQs below. You can also find our in-depth terms + conditions here, if you need them.
-
We are able to cover most of the UK, so long as the total time between collection and delivery is no longer than 8 hours.
We are based in North Wales, so this is the starting point we operate from (and price from).
-
As we don’t do delivery ‘runs’ (which are typically limited to once or twice a month), we quote for every delivery individually.
Pricing is based on the total number of miles travelled, starting from our location in North Wales.
-
The simple answer is: never!
We operate a little differently than other reptile couriers, as we don’t do delivery ‘runs’ (where multiple animal deliveries are scheduled for one ‘run’, once a month).
We quote for each delivery individually, and it would be just your animal(s) on-board with us. This means we may not be the cheapest option available to you, but it does mean we can offer a more expedited, dedicated service.
-
We completely understand your concern, and we want to be fully transparent so you know exactly where you stand.
In the extremely unlikely event that the animal dies (or gets sick or injured) whilst in our care, you are entitled to make a claim to recover the cost of the animal (in the case of death), or any vet fees (in the case of illness or injury).
Unless the animal was already ill, or deemed to have died of natural causes, we can raise a claim with our dediciated insurers.
-
Absolutely! So long as the animal is packaged in an appropriate travel box/bag outside of the viv, we can collect and deliver any housing/hardware it may be travelling with. If it will fit in our Caddy van, we can handle it for you!
-
As we don’t do courier ‘runs’ your animal will be in the van for as long as it takes to get it to you (and never any longer than 8 hours).
-
Yes, we are! We hold a DEFRA Type 2 license, which means we are authorised to transport reptiles across the UK.
-
Yes, we are fully insured. This means that if something happens to your reptile whilst in our care, we can raise a claim on your behalf with our insurers to reclaim any costs involved.
-
As we don’t do big delivery runs with multiple animals, we don’t have a racking or shelving system in our van.
We ensure the animal’s transportation box/bag is secured, and we continuously monitor the ambient temperature of the van (and inside the box) , adjusting it where necessary to ensure optimal conditions throughout.
-
When we collect an animal, we complete a thorough check to ensure they are fit for travel. This includes a visual health inspection, and signed confirmation from the person we are collecting from that the animal is fit for travel, to the best of their knowledge. We also take a quick video and photo of the animal at the time of collection.
If we spot any signs of illness or disease that haven’t been disclosed, we do reserve the right to refuse the collection (and no refund will be given). If you’re unsure whether we’ll be able to carry the animal due to illness, drop us an email to hey@scalysafari.co and we can advise further.
We repeat this process at the other end, too.
-
For sure! Send us an email to hey@scalysafari.co and we’ll be happy to offer a discount if you’re planning on using our service more frequently.
-
As we have a lot of experience transporting different kinds of reptiles, there isn’t really any reptile we wouldn’t be able to carry. If you have something a little more unusual, or with exceptional care requirements, drop us an email and we’ll let you know what we can do.
-
No problem! We love a bit of spice - it keeps things interesting 🔥
