Scaly Safari isn’t like most animal experience businesses.
This isn’t a side hustle, a gimmick, or a photo opportunity dressed up as education.
It’s our life’s work.
We don’t believe animals exist to perform, pose, or be passed around for novelty. We believe real encounters — slow, respectful, embodied ones — can change how people see the world, and themselves.
Most people arrive expecting something fun.
What they often leave with is something deeper: a shift, a pause, a recalibration they didn’t know they needed.
Reptiles don’t rush.
They don’t apologise for taking up space.
They don’t soften themselves to be liked.
Spending time with them has a way of cutting through the noise.
In a loud, frantic world obsessed with speed, certainty, and spectacle, that kind of stillness can feel confronting — and quietly transformative.
OUR ANIMALS
Our animals are not props.
They are living, individual beings — carefully chosen, well cared for, and deeply respected. Many are species most people will never encounter up close in their lifetime.
Our collection is intentionally curated, not excessive.
Quality over quantity. Welfare over wow-factor.
Every animal we work with has been selected for:
temperament and wellbeing
educational depth
the ability to take part in calm, safe, consent-led encounters
Handling is never compulsory.
Curiosity is welcomed.
Fear is respected, not mocked.
Animal welfare is not a selling point for us — it’s the baseline.
WHAT WE OFFER
Scaly Safari exists to create meaningful encounters with living nature.
That might look like:
a child discovering that fear doesn’t have to run the show

a care home visit that sparks memory, connection, and dignity
or someone realising they were wrong about reptiles — and feeling safe enough to let that be true
We’re not here to convince anyone to love reptiles.
We’re not here to force interaction or manufacture reactions.
We’re here to open doors — and let people choose whether to walk through them.
