Living to around five years of age, these awesome creatures are low-maintenance and tonnes of fun…making them the perfect pet for kids (and adults!).

HOUSING

Your babies will come living in a plastic box enclosure that they can stay in for some time. When they get bigger, you’ll need to move them into a larger box.

CARE REQUIREMENTS

Hissing cockroaches are super-easy to look after: they just need a light misting with water once a day, and taking out any poo that you notice (until the hissers are much older, you probably won’t need to do this). They need to be kept around 25-27 degrees, so if the room is on the cold side, you may need to add a heat mat.

We recommend cleaning out the enclosure and replacing the substrate every few months.

FEEDING

We recommend feeding your hissers a selection of leftover veg, fruit, and fish flakes for protein.
