When the weather turns chilly, keeping our cold-blooded friends warm is top priority at Scaly Safari ❄️🐍 As reptile lovers, we understand that every species has its own unique temperature needs — and we go above and beyond to make sure every animal stays comfortable, healthy, and stress-free during travel and events.

Here’s how we make sure our scaly (and sometimes spiky or slithery!) team stays cosy all winter long.

🚐 Temperature-Controlled Scaly Safari Van

Our awesome Scaly Safari van is fully temperature-controlled, ensuring a stable, warm environment no matter what’s happening outside. The van’s wired-up cabin has a continuous power supply that keeps heat mats running safely throughout our journeys.

We also use digital thermometers to monitor the ambient temperature inside the van at all times. This means our animals travel in comfort — never too hot, never too cold — just perfectly within their preferred ranges.

📱 Smart Thermometers in Every Travel Box

Every animal travels in its own secure, ventilated box — and each one has a smart thermometer connected directly to our phones. These devices are set to the ideal temperature range for that particular species.

If the temperature fluctuates even slightly outside of the set parameters, we get an instant alert, allowing us to take action straight away. This real-time monitoring gives us total peace of mind that every reptile, insect, and mammal is safe and snug on the road.

🔥 Heated Displays at Events

When we arrive at an event, our attention to warmth doesn’t stop there! Each display setup includes heat mats and thermometers, helping us to maintain the correct enclosure temperatures during the session.

This ensures our reptiles stay active, happy, and healthy while meeting everyone — even if it’s snowing outside.

🧤 Always Prepared with Backup Heat Packs

We never leave things to chance. Onboard our van, we always carry additional single-use heat packs for emergencies or when extra warmth is needed. These packs give us the flexibility to adapt quickly to unexpected temperature drops, ensuring the welfare of our animals at all times.

❤️ Welfare Comes First

At Scaly Safari, the comfort and safety of our animals is our number one priority - and we are experienced and knowledgeable in the specific care requirements of multiple reptile and invertebrate species.

From tropical snakes and desert lizards to rainforest millipedes — we understand exactly what each species needs to thrive.

So whether we’re visiting a school, care home, party, or event, you can rest assured that our animals are safe, warm, and well-cared for, every step of the way.
